As many of you SCAD people may already know, a great man passed away yesterday while hiking in N.Y.
Jeremy Wade Mullins was one of the first SEQA people I met at SCAD and, along with Duncan, gave me my first tour of the department.
He welcomed me warmly and always said hi and remembered me when he saw me in the hallway.
His smile always brought me out of whatever funk I was in and encouraged me to work harder and go further.
The last time I saw him was the day I was leaving for home for the summer.
I was riding my bike down Broughton one last time when I saw him heading in the opposite direction on the other side of the street.
I wanted to scream and wave frantically at him to say goodbye and wish him a happy summer, but I didn't want to look like an idiot in the middle of traffic, so I restrained myself.
Now I wish I didn't.
Knowing he won't be there when I get back makes things a little harder.
But I know he'd want us all to keep going and work hard.

To all of Sweetwater's friends and family, I will be praying for your comfort in this hard time.
To all of the SEQA kids who knew him like a crazy brother, despite this setback, I'm sure things will be hard, but let's keep at it for him, to show him how strong we've become because of his hard work with us.

In other news, I am still not taking commissions at the moment.
However, I am working on commissions that I've regrettably been neglecting, so if I owe you something, don't worry- it's coming.
Magnus, I'm working on yours right now and it's killer.
There's a lot of detail work so it's taking me a while but I'm keeping at it.

For those of you who were keeping up with my situation on the crazy fake iPod lady, it's all straightened out (FINALLY!).
I had to file a report with the FBI, get the police to come give me advice, have PayPal totally wimp out on me, and have a complete mental breakdown before my bank finally got involved and worked with PayPal to make that insertfoulmouthedinsulthere refund my money.
So, after everything, I finally got my $75 back, I'm going to be getting my friend's old iPod (he's very generous and is giving it to me for free! 8D), and still have the phony one to remember this whole situation by. Trust me, she ain't gettin' it back. I already gave her that option.

Anyway, I'm back at home with some time on my hands to work on stuff I've had to push to the side while in Grad School.
I'm spending time with the family (which is turning out to be more stressful than Grad School sometimes, but I wouldn't trade it for the world) and am going to be here until August.
My sister and her friend Amanda promised that they'd drive me back down there in time for the Elbow concert in Atlanta on August 8th (going to see it with friends w00t! 8D).
In the meantime, I'm catching up on lost entertainment, sleep, and animal cuddlin's.
You have no idea how much I missed my dog and cat.
They love me.
Especially Hobbes (the cat).
It's true.

Anyway, in another couple weeks I'll be seeing more family for our family summer birthday celebration.
I'm looking forward to it... and all the presents I'll be getting. :3
(My birthday was May 27th in case you didn't know.)

Movie/Series: Henry Poole is Here. WOW. Okay, this movie... was awesome. I bawled all the way through it it was so good. If you haven't seen it, go check it out! Heck, don't just rent it- BUY IT NOW. It's totally worth it! And the soundtrack? HECK YES. Definitely the best Luke Wilson role I've ever seen.
5 out of 5 stars and a DVD shove in the face.
