Yep.
My character Imiru the Assassin-ninja (from WorldWide Collapse) kicking a dinosaur in the face.


It was about time I revisited this story.
I do love it so very much.
But the characters needed some revamping, so here's Imiru's new design.
The capelet zips up with a gigantic zipper thing in the front, and her ponytail is tied up with a loose piece of fabric.
There's also some hair that didn't make it into the ponytail, so it's just kinda loosely hanging off the back of her neck like a tail.
She's got some attachments on her wrists that hold the wolverine-like double-claws that are spring-loaded.

You won't know what it is (because I don't know what it is... >____>; ).

I'm especially cautious with my artwork lately due to a high volume of art thieves out there.

Haha awesome! I love characters like these. You can't get much cooler than kicking a T-Rex in the face.

I've got a (somewhat) similar character myself.

You've done a good job here with giving a dynamic sense of speed to the piece and the composition pulls your eyes into the scene.

My only real critique is that the impact of the kick could be a bit more dramatic and have more "oomph", although that would be quite difficult to modify at this point.

Don't you hate when that happens?

But such things are common when you're an artist. You'll finish a picture, then think "bah I could have done this better". Happens to me all the time.

BRAINFART

Recently I've begun watching the works of Akira Kurosawa, the most prevelant of which being Seven Samurai, and was thinking about the ways that story has been reinterpreted (once as a sci-fi/steampunk anime, once as an American Western).

I also started watching a lot of other older films set in similar time periods to Kurosawa's films and I started getting vague ideas for things... but now, after clicking on this seemingly unrelated picture, it's all starting to come together.

This was like the straw that broke the camel's back of my writer's block.

AKIRA KUROSAWA IS <3

He is my absolute idol and I'm working on collecting all his films.
So far I have Ran, Dreams, Sanjuro, Hidden Fortress, and the special edition Criterion Seven Samurai, which is amazing.
I'm also thinking about reinterpreting Seven Samurai, which is kinda manifested in DAWGs.

Yeah, now that you mention it (and now that i know the story) I can see where you incorporated it, sort of.

Well shortly after I watched the film itself, as a huge martial arts/historical weapons buff, I started thinking of doing a picture of all of the characters as warriors from different time periods and regions. Now I'm trying to find a way for that to make sense in writing. My only problem with that aside from not having enough time to write with schoolwork and everything, I'm already 2 chapters into something I already started, and i want to actually FINISH something if ou know what i mean.
