So I haven't updated you guys on much lately.
Figured I'd let you know what was going on.
I'm doing pretty good as far as rent money is concerned, thanks to my student refund. KACHING! Money in my pocket.
I sang a money in my pocket song, similar to Morita's from Honey and Clover.
Just ask Mad.
I sang it to her on Skype.
Anyway, thanks to all you peeps who supported me all the way and volunteered for me and gave me wonderful pimpage.
I love you all and I'll never forget you when I'm rich and famous.
Well, maybe I will forget you but I won't forget that I had underlings along the way.
In other news, DAWGs is under way again!
HUZZAH!
In other other news, I'll be working on my original story "Raven Crest" (previously known as "The Bird King", a small glimpse of which can be seen here: [link] ) for my Sequential Art Studio I class.
I'm really excited about it because it really is a beautiful story to me,
and the plotline I think will really captivate audiences.
Here's a preface:
"Kozue Kiusasha is drifting through life; no ambitions, no direction, nothing extraordinary about her at all. Until she saves a small bird from being tangled up in a tree, who turns out to be the Bird King (and whom she later dubs "Torishou" ). As a sign of his appreciation, the Bird King begins doting gifts upon her and waiting on her hand and foot. However, events take a drastic turn and Kozue finds herself in the midst of an all-out aviary war! Who is the Bird King, why do the Crows despise him, and what is the mystery behind the Crest?"
Hope that gets you going, because you'll be seeing some uploads later this year.
Oh yeah... and did I mention they'll all be watercolors?
Yeah.
One more thing before I go:
I'm thinking of adding more incentive to commission me,
while still keeping the workload easy on me, so I'm starting something new.
"Character concept creation commissions."
Otherwise known as C4s.
These will be unique commissions in which you, the commissioner, send me a note with a few bits of information, such as a name, or a species, or a general character description, and I will create a character based on it.
That's it.
No requirements, no restrictions, just pure unadulterated creation.
These C4s are perfect for those of you with stories you're just getting started, or video games you want to design, but can't think of anything (or don't have the time to do it yourself).
Since these are quick and easy, they'll be very cheap, and the best part about it is that, whether or not you end up using the C4 in your story or video game (or what have you), it's yours to keep.
That's right, all yours. No strings attached.
I will create it, and you will own it.
The only real downside to it is you don't know what you'll get.
Still, that can be a good thing, right?
Anyway, if you're interested, let me know via note, or go vote on my poll about it: [link] .
Oh, and before I forget, these C4s will only cost between $5 and $10.
$5 for lineart only,
$10 for colored (marker only).
What do you think?
Love you all!

LAWL.
The deviantART higher-ups have deemed it evil to post screencaps,
and have thusly removed my ScreenCap Meme about MushiShi,
though I clearly stated it wasn't my artwork and gave credit to the original creators, and even encouraged people to go watch it on their own instead of looking at my meme!
Go figure.
I just think it's hilarious they go after the little things like screencaps when there are so many blatant art thieves out there that could be stopped.

HALLELUJAH!
So I was all stressed out because they make it nearly impossible to find a job anywhere NEAR campus, so I went out job hunting and filled out some applications... some promising, some not so much.
In the meantime, I called about the student refunds they said they'd be sending out this week.
My friend Mel said she already got hers, and she's a Grad student living off-campus like me.
But I hadn't seen any glimmer of mine on the horizon, so I called the Bursar's Office.
He told me it wouldn't be until TUESDAY that they would mail mine out.
TUESDAY.
That's THE DAY before I have to pay October's Rent!!!
It probably wouldn't even get to me until the 1st!!!
What was I going to do?!?
Well, after going out job-hunting, I came back home to find a letter waiting for me.
What's this?
From the Savannah College of Art and Design Student Refunds Office?!?
HUZZAH!
THE MEAN MAN LIED TO ME!!!
By the grace of God, my check was mailed out earlier than anticipated (WAY earlier) and I got it today!
I am very happy right now,
because this means that even if I don't get a job this week or next week or even the week after, I'll manage to get by.
Happy Emily is happy..... and still taking commissions.
Happy Emily loves you all.
9-26-08:
To those who regularly watch my site.
Sorry if there is offensive or disturbing material or images here.
However, I'd like to say something about this.
I am an artist.
This is an artist site.
I am an incredibly emotional person, and have creative passion flowing in torrents from every pore of me.
If I don't have an outlet for that; if I can't make my art and express these emotions,
well then,
I will most definitely whither away to nothing.
I can't be happy and not do art.
It's impossible for me.
If I don't remain artistically active and expressive then I get depressed.
If I don't write about my life and record the events happening to me,
I also get depressed.
You have to understand that as an artist, I get inspired by these happenings in my life, and I must keep a record of them in order to keep the inspiration alive.
Bad things happen in life to everyone.
Some people turn the other cheek to those bad things and continue with their life as normal, bottling up their building intense emotions.
Not me.
I turn around and fire it out, whether that be on paper, canvas, or here on my journal.
I am an artist, free to express myself.
I am an adult, free to be myself.
Please don't rope me in.
I want to fly away.
This will not go the way of my xanga (some of you may remember this).
I will not let this inspiration die.
Forgive me.
But please don't try to control this one.
It is dear to me.
If you have issues with what I write or create or do,
just please turn away and don't watch it anymore.

9-25-08:
I think my bank hates me now.
They keep putting charges on my account without notifying me. ><
Argh.
Well, good news: I got my bike back.
Bad news: the brake clamped down on the front tire so I can't ride it without an intense amount of resistance.
Tomorrow I'm taking it back to the bike shop to get them to fix it.... THEY BETTER DO IT FOR FREE IS ALL I CAN SAY.
I'm getting frustrated with customer service lately.
Oh, and apparently my school likes to screw grad students over and watch them fall into poverty and laugh as they lay writhing in a cesspool of their own filth and debt.
I.e., I can't get a job on campus unless I have federal student aid, which I don't, so nobody will give me a job even though they say they want me for my experience, but don't want to pay me because it would be out of their own budget instead of the school's.
Yeah...
I'm gonna try and get a job at one of the local galleries. :3
I made a detailed hour-by-hour schedule of my entire weekend.
Hopefully that will give me the structure necessary to my life right now to get things done.
And hopefully it will keep me motivated.
Hopefully as well, no hitches will arise in my schedule, such as more money woes.
For those of you commissioning me, thank you!
I made plenty of room for working on commissions every day this weekend so I should get quite a few done (assuming my creative energies aren't completely depleted by the 10-hour speed-sketching homework assigned for one of my classes T^T ).
Oh, and everyone should check out a show called Xam'd.
The animation is fantastic!
SOMEBODY SUB THIS THING ALREADY!
If you like Eureka Seven, you'll DEFINITELY love this.
And if you like Cowboy Bebop.... and Evangelion... and Princess Mononoke... and Nausicaa... and :is shot:.

9-23-08:
So yeah... one of the loan companies apparently had me scheduled for a payment to my account for today, and I didn't remember until they sent me an email last night. I didn't get the email in time and now it's going through on my bank account, causing me to get overdrawn (a $10 fee, and also adding $55 to my credit card debt).
I have to wait till it goes through to dispute it and try to get a refund, so I may or may not be flat broke tomorrow morning.
It really comes at a bad time too.
My rent for the month of October is due the 1st, and this is taking away almost half of that rent from me.
If I can't pay my rent, what am I supposed to do?
Life is really just kinda crashing down on me right now.
It would seem that the loan company, the bank, and life in general seems hell-bent on throwing me into poverty.
In other words, HELP.
If you can commission me and want to, please help me out.
I'd really appreciate it.
I should also like to thank all those who have been helping me out so far.
Thanks everyone for caring.
Oh, and I should thank my classmate Mel who took me to the bike shop when my bike's tire exploded and even offered to help me pay for it (I respectfully declined... this was before the fiasco called bankruptcy), and she's even going to give me rides this week until my bike gets fixed.
Still, I have to pay $60 out of my pocket to fix that darn bike.
More money I don't have.
UGH.
God, I know You provide, and You've always proven to take care of me when times got their worst (which they are now), but man... You sure do have a roundabout way of doing it, don't You?
Love you all.

MAJOR DESPERATION EDIT/UPDATE:

</END MAJOR DESPERATION EDIT/UPDATE>
I desperately need moneys guys!
I know, I know, you all do.
But this is really really important.
I'm down in Georgia, away from family and friends; I have no job, no cash, hardly any money in either of my bank accounts, my credit card is maxed out, and I'm just now applying for deferments on my loans.
Oh yeah... and I have to eat.
Plus the fact that I haven't paid my first month's $250 rent, and come October 1st, I'll have to pay another $325 for that month!
Oh, and we can't forget that I need some way to pay for a moped so I can actually get to classes.
I seriously don't know where I'm going to get the money to pay for all this.
So I'm asking you for help.
I'm not asking for donations (though that would be wonderful
but rather I'm asking for your commissions and your pimpage.
If you know someone who's interested in a fairly cheap commission, please direct them to me!
I've recently changed my commission prices, so check those out here: [link]
I will only be taking $10-$25 commissions (cash or paypal only),
but for the next month there will be no limit as to how many I'm taking!
Granted, they may take a little while to get to, but I'd greatly appreciate any business you guys can give me!
Again, from now till October 31st, I will be taking an unlimited amount of $10-$25 commissions so I can pay off debts, rent, food expenses, and the like!
Thank you all for your help and attention.
EDIT: The very wonderful and talented and magnanimous personage that is =Eitan606 is throwing in a free commission from him if you commission me!!
How awesome is that?!?
Go read more about it at his journal here: [link]

The Sky is my Canvas, a masterpiece in the making.
The following is rated X. It contains sex, violence, gore, nudity, and one way or another I'll probably end up offending you and pissing you off.

>open all week. unless end of world<
one time my sister was walking to her classes in chicago,
and there was a bag-lady that always sat at the end of the bridge.
we called her the "spare some change" lady because she always shouted that.
but one day i guess my sister ticked her off by just passing her by and the lady threw whatever money she had at her.
